The social media landscape has been buzzing in 2025, with new developments shaking things up. In Singapore, if you’re a Lemon8 user, there’s an urgent update you need to pay attention to.
According to a post written by TheSmartLocal:

Lemon8 Accounts Not Linked To TikTok Will Be Deleted After 20th May
So, What’s Happening with Lemon8?
Lemon8, a social media platform originally launched in Japan as Sharee in 2020, this platform, which was created by Singapore’s Heliophelia Pte Ltd, is modeled after Pinterest and Xiaohongshu (RedNote) but is owned by ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok.

As of November 2024, Lemon8 users have been able to log in using their TikTok accounts. However, there’s now a critical deadline: if you don’t link your Lemon8 account to TikTok by 20th May 2025, your Lemon8 profile and all of its data will be deleted. This means you’ll lose all your posts, likes, followers, and saved content if you don’t act.
How Is Lemon8 Different from TikTok?
While Lemon8 and TikTok share the same parent company, they operate differently. Lemon8 focuses on photos and short-form videos arranged in a Pinterest-style layout, with a stronger emphasis on niche content like fashion, beauty, food, travel, and home décor. TikTok, on the other hand, is all about 16:9 videos in a vertical scroll format, with a broader variety of content catering to a wider audience.
How Do I Link My Lemon8 and TikTok Accounts?
Don’t worry—it’s simple to link your accounts. Just follow these steps:
- Download the Latest Lemon8 App: Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Log In Before 20th May 2025: Open the app and log in.
- Recover Your Account: Tap the question mark icon and select “Recover Lemon8 account.”
- Verify and Link Your Accounts: Follow the prompts to link your TikTok account.
Once linked, all your Lemon8 content will stay intact, including posts, likes, followers, and saved items.

Don’t Miss the Deadline!
To avoid losing your profile, make sure you link your accounts before the 20th May 2025 deadline. The process is quick and easy, so don’t wait until the last minute.
